You are warmly invited to take part in the third Dutch Process Work event. This year it will take place on Friday 9, Saturday 10, and Sunday 11 October in the city of Haarlem the Netherlands.
Our trainer is Dawn Menken. Maybe you already know her, she is one of the well-known names in the world of Process work and Deep Democracy. Dawn also visited the Netherlands in 2023 with the very successful workshop The Power of Relationships. I am therefore very happy and proud that she is visiting our country again.
What does it cost?
This year we are again working with three fee levels (€647 – €995 – €1,157). As a participant, you choose which of these three you pay, based on what you are able to afford. In this way, we aim to distribute the financial burden fairly. We cannot look into everyone’s wallet, nor can we decide what each person can carry. This allows us to avoid a paternalistic discount system based on country, background, origin, sex, gender, etc.
With these three fee levels, we place the responsibility for the choice of payment where it belongs: with you, the participant.
This fee is for the seminar only. Coffe, tea and water are included. Lunch is at your own costs. There is a great verity of restaureants in the city centre.

What does it mean to facilitate with Deep Democracy — where every voice, every perspective, and even the unspoken atmosphere has value? Beneath the words we argue. Beneath the sides we take. Beneath the issues that seem so solid and immovable. There is a dreaming intelligence moving through us all — through conflict, through silence, through the tremble in a voice that has not yet found its courage.
Worldwork: The Deep Democracy of Facilitation is an immersion into that deeper field.
Organizations, businesses, political institutions, and schools are microcosms of the wider world. Within them, we see conflict and systemic inequities alongside inspiring vision and innovation. They hold diversity and cultural differences, power dynamics, spoken agendas and unspoken tensions — all embedded within evolving leadership structures and the constant possibility of change.
We will explore and work with the challenging power dynamics and social issues that emerge in groups and introduce practical tools for facilitating tense interactions. This seminar explores how Worldwork, rooted in Processwork, can be applied to organizational life as a living practice of deep democracy.
We will learn to listen not only to what is being said, but to what is trying to happen. To reveal all sides of a conflict and lead groups through charged conversations and debilitating polarizations. To sense the ghost roles in the room. To track the edge where growth flickers. To stand in the fire of tension without collapsing into sides.
In this experiential learning space, we will explore how conflict can be transformative. How polarization becomes a doorway. How the marginalized voice — within and without — holds the potential solution for the whole system.
In this 3-day training, participants will learn to:
•Facilitate dialogue across hierarchy, rank, and power differences
•Recognize and work with “ghost roles” and marginalized perspectives
•Explore and facilitate the deeper perspectives within polarization
•Track group atmosphere, emotional undercurrents, and emergent themes
•Support leadership in navigating change, uncertainty, and crisis
This seminar is designed for facilitators, organizational leaders, coaches, consultants, community organizers, educators, students, and anyone who wants to expand their capacity to host meaningful dialogue and transformational group processes.
Who is Dawn Menken?
She is an educator, therapist, leadership coach, facilitator, and conflict resolution specialist with a wide international reputation. She was a co-founder of the Process Work Institute (PWI) in Portland, where she contributed to the development of the master’s programs and served as academic dean for more than ten years. Dawn is still a highly respected teacher at PWI. In all her work, she is driven by the desire to improve public dialogue and inspire more meaningful civic engagement.
At the age of 20, in the late 1970s, she traveled to Zurich, Switzerland, and became part of the original group that learned from and collaborated with Arnold Mindell during the discovery of Process Work.
Dawn is the author of the award-winning book Facilitating A More Perfect Union. She also wrote Raising Parents Raising Kids, which has made an important contribution to the field of parenting, understanding children, and family life.
Where is it?
This year we are guests of the Mennonite congregation in the center of Haarlem a beautiful historic complex of buildings surrounding a hidden church from 1683. The room where we will train for three days is De Van Braghtzaal, part of the Jugendstil extension from the 1920s.

Haarlem is easily accessible by train. The location is within walking distance of the station. If you come by car, Haarlem has four large parking garages, all within walking distance. There is a wide range of restaurants, cafés, hostels, and hotels nearby.
